Fourteen-year-old Sam Fox is looking around his aunt's convenience store while his two-year-old niece, Nissa, plays on the floor. Sam notices a strange man standing near the register and his aunt getting money out of a safe, and before he knows it he and Nissa are taken hostage at gunpoint by the robber. Speeding out of control in the middle of a tropical cyclone, the robber crashes his truck in the raging Crocodile River. Now Sam and Nissa are in a dangerous fight for their lives. Not only are they threatened by the raging waters, but wild boars and fierce crocodiles seem determined to get them. Can Sam keep his promise to Nissa and get her home safely? An edge of your seat adventure young readers will enjoy. (Ages 9-12)
