Old Turtle, New Moon
By Valerie Hardin
Illus By Anne O'Konski
Review By Christina Lewis

As Ying-Ying is tucked snugly in her bed, the moon smiles down on her. But sometimes the moon likes to hide on the beach and eat bread and jam with her friend Old Turtle. Old Turtle and the Moon talk about how shy Ying-Ying is, so they ask the fairies to play with her. The fairies bring Ying Ying to the moon to eat bread and jam while Old Turtle sings and the Moon tells stories. Soon it is time to go to bed and the fairies look forward to playing with Ying-Ying again. The deep and vivid illustrations pull the reader into the fun and magic of this story. At the end of the story are pictures to print and color. (Ages 2 and up)
