November Poetry

Wind
by Elysabeth
Age 13

The Wind
It whispers all around us
Dancing, always
Invisible
Blows in our ear
Sings a quiet
Or loud
Melody
Forever sighing
To the mountains,
Sea,
Forests,
and the deep blue sky.

Snow
by Samantha
Age 11

Snow falling everywhere
I watch it without a care.
It makes everything so beautiful,
and it makes me feel so wonderful.
I love snow so very much,
Lets get to gether and sing Christmas carols with a bunch.

Fellow Birds
by Risha
Age 9

As the sun showed it's first ray of light
I told everybody it's time to take flight
They asked me whether the adventure would be long
I said it wouldn't be if we hum a nice little song
Our destination is a very long flight to London
The decision to go there was taken very sudden
We reached there in two days, which seemed like two hours
My friends thought to change time I had magical powers
We settled down on an oak tree
In a yard that was cat free
The yard was filled with fruits
Berries, leaves and roots
We had a sumptuous dinner that day
Although there were ants, we ate it anyway
We made friends with a family of beaver
They gave us fresh fish from the flowing river
I love my new home, it's like a dream come true
Go back to my old city, a job I will never do.

Pumpkins Pumpkins Pumpkins
by Eddie
Age 8

White pumpkins. Big pumpkins. Dented little round pumpkins. Orange flying squishy pumpkins. These are just a few. Pumkins...Pumkins... Green pumkins. Fuzzy hard carved pumpkins. Smooth bright scary pumpkins. Blue pumpkins too. Flat pumkins. Amazing pumpkins. But last of all... and best of all... Don't forget the funny pumpkins.

I am, who I am
by Alex
Age 12

I am, who I am
I'm a girl who likes to jam
I love to be on the court
Even though I’m short
I love to talk to my dog
When I’m sitting on a log
I am, who I am

I love Lebron James
I love to watch his games
I love to dance
In my new pants
I love to shop
I don’t know when to stop
I am, who I am

Moonlight
by Emily
Age 11

Moonlight
Shining
In the dark
Dancing
In the sparkling night
With
The stars
It is
The quiet time
The only sounds
Are of innocent crickets and
Frogs
Singing softly
Then the moon and stars
Fade away...

You, Me, And Someone Else Too
by Lizzie
Age 11

You are a rose unique and blue.
I am a deep red colour, a rose too.
That someone is a thorn which splits us apart.
Tell me why is that someone between our two hearts.
You are the waves which crash against the shore.
I am the sand which meets you beneath the ocean floor.
You are a rose unique and blue.
I am a deep red rose now close to you.

The Accident
by Megan
Age 12

Going going
As fast as I can
Turn the corner
Boom
I crash
not knowing what happened
heard sirens coming
coming for me
then I knew
that I might
be seriously hurt

For My Mom at Christmas
by Kara
Age 12

I love my mom so much, she has the gentlest touch,
she know's how to make each and everyday seem like a little piece of heaven, I don't know how she does it, she makes it seem like there is nothing to it, she has a very important job, and that job is being my mom, Sometimes I fuss, fight and complain, I don't know how she stay's sane, today is a very special day, a day for celebrating Jesus, looking at lights, and giving presents away, but I want it to be very special for her, because of all that she does, she does so much for me and I want her to have a great Christmas day and hope that she knows that I love her SO much every single day!!!

I'm Bored
by Katelyn
Age 12

I'm bored, it's true.
I have nothing to do.
Today there's no school,
Which you might think is cool.
But I can't go to the pool.
I feel like a fool.
I'm bored, it's true.
I have nothing to do.

I'm bored, it's true.
I have nothing to do.
As you can see,
It's only me.
I would love to be free,
Like a humble, bumble bee.
I'm bored, it's true.
I have nothing to do.

I'm bored, it's true.
I have nothing to do.
I'd love to go shopping.
Or maybe rock hopping.
I could go bubble popping.
I'll find something,I'm hoping
I'm bored, it's true.
I have nothing to do.

My Friend Lisa
By Alexis
Age 10

One day my cousin and I rode our bikes together and we stopped along the way to get water. That's when we saw two horses, one chestnut Mama and one baby who was brown and white. I thought they were harmless so I touched the baby and it acted like it was a cat purring. Then I asked the baby, "What is your Name?" I knew she couldn't answer me but, she said, "My name is Lisa. Can you be my friend?" "Sure, we said." Lisa turned to her mother, "Mom can I go play with them?" "Of course you can; just don't go too far. Stay where I can see you," said the mother horse.
Suddenly a man came over to the park with his dog and a rope and tried to get Lisa with it. Lisa neighed and she neighed but her neigh was so soft nobody could hear her. We all tried to stop him, even Lisa's mother but he was really strong. Then I remembered that I had my cell phone in my pocket so I called 911 and told the police, "a man is taking Lisa." They said, "we'll be right over."
The police came in six minutes and arrested the man. They told him, "you are lucky that this is 2006, buster. A hundred years ago you could get hung for stealing a horse. Now you are going to jail where the food is really bad." Then he turned to us. "Thanks girls, we've been looking for this guy for a long time. Now he can show us where all the other horses he took are kept."
Suddenly we heard a whine. We had forgotten about the horse thief's dog. At first we thought about calling animal control to come and pick him up but we decided not to. Instead, we gave it to somebody who would really care about him, a neighbor I knew who wanted a dog.

The Rainy Days
By Indigo
Age 6

Once upon a time, there lived a girl named Jo.
One day, Jo went out on a cloudy day.
It started to rain and rain.
Jo was mad, very mad.
She was mad because she was going to play with her friend, Dan.

Her friend Dan is a nice boy.
Ever since Jo was two, Dan was there to help.

The next day was rainy, too.
“Rain, rain, rain,” mumbled Jo. “Why does it rain all the time?” Her mother told her that it doesn’t rain all the time.

The next day was sunny!
“Yeah!” Jo yelled.
It was sunny!
She ran out and went to Dan’s house!
Knock, knock!
“Who’s there?”
“It’s Jo! It’s Jo!” Jo yelled.

“It’s you!” Dan said surprised. And the two of them went to the park.
